Multi-point and high spatially resolved strain sensing system for fuel tank of space aircraft

OFDR can measure strain with less-than-1mm spatial resolution.

- FBG sensor : Absolute strain sensing without signal drift

- Advantage of fiber-optical sensing :
1) light-weight
2) EMI (electro-magnetic immune)
3) Anti-explosive
4) Anti-corrosive

By utilizing these merits, work is in progress for re-usable space shuttle and rocket.
